Russia’s RAO ES Vostoka completes wind power project with Japan

MOSCOW, Mar 29 (PRIME) -- Russian power utility RAO ES Vostoka and its Japanese partners Mitsui & Co., Komaihaltec Inc. and Fuji Electric Co. have completed pre-project works and successfully implemented a pilot project in wind power engineering and smart grids in Ust-Kamchatsk, a rural locality on the Kamchatka Peninsula, Mitsui & Co. said in a statement on Tuesday.

“The project in Ust-Kamchatsk promises to become the basis of launching wind power plants and smart grid systems in many Russian isolated towns,” it said.

The construction of a wind power plant and a smart grid system in Ust-Kamchatsk was launched in October 2014 and completed in 2015. The facilities were launched in 2016.

Mitsui, Komaihaltec and Fuji Electric will operate the plant and the grid system in a test mode for a year.
